Books

People have been asking me for years when my book on Hasidic Feminism is coming out. I have some exciting news: in two years!

In all seriousness, I do have an academic book under contract, and I’m in talks with Koren Press and Sichos in English about my book in progress that is a map of the feminine in Chabad Chassidus (G-d willing that is going to be an amazing book). However, these books are going to take a couple years to come out. And I don’t want to wait years to put something meaningful, deep, and usable into women’s hands now.

So, I am doing an experiment to self-publish my first short booklet on Amazon.

This book is a translation and expansive commentary on a foundational discourse (ma’amar) in Torah Ohr by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, the first Chabad Rebbe, centered on the ezer kenegdo—the feminine as the bedrock of creation itself—from the moment of creation, through exile, and into its messianic potential.

And this book isn’t just a translation. It is full of commentary and personal essays that make the ideas real and practical. Most women don’t think they can open a Torah Ohr and find something that will resonate with them. This translation literally opens this sefer for women.

The fact that this book will be self-published on Amazon, also means that I have no editing or marketing budget, just what I can pull together myself. Please consider joining me in launching this project. Whether it is $18-$180, your support is part of building the bedrock of so much more Torah learning by women and for women.

Your donation is also a pre-order of the book, since I will be sending out a FREE copy to everyone who donates, at any amount!
